In-Clinic Abortions

(AKA procedural or surgical abortion)

I’clinic abortion is a medical procedure that safely and effectively terminates a pregnancy, and there are two types of in-clinic abortion: aspiration abortion and dilation and evacuation (D&E) abortion.

Aspiration abortion, also known as vacuum aspiration, is a common method of abortion performed up to 14 weeks after the last menstrual period. This procedure involves using gentle suction to remove the pregnancy tissue from the uterus.

Dilation and evacuation (D&E) abortion is another type of surgical abortion that is typically performed after 14 weeks of pregnancy. This procedure involves dilating the cervix and using special instruments to remove the pregnancy tissue from the uterus.

Both types of surgical abortion are safe and effective, and medical professionals at your clinic will guide you through which option is best for you.
