Accessing Abortion & Sexual Healthcare
In Alberta and Canada, there are two ways to terminate pregnancy: surgically and medically.
Surgical abortions are done in a medical facility, currently only available in Alberta in Calgary and Edmonton. Surgical abortions are free to anyone with an Alberta Healthcare Card. Any prescribing Doctor or Nurse Practioner is able to prescribe Mifegymiso (the abortion pill). If you do not have a family Doctor, we can provide you with a direct referral to a prescribing medical professional in your community.

Medical Abortions
Medical abortions terminate pregnancy up to 12 weeks.
