My Abortion Saved My Life
When I accidentally got pregnant, I knew my partner wasn't the safest person to have a child with. He had a drinking problem and was emotionally abusive.
The staff at the clinic were so kind.
Making that choice enabled me to keep working to get mental health care, and now that I've left that relationship, to be able to choose a safe partner so I can plan for a child in future if it makes sense for my life.
I later learned my birth control was faulty. Without access to this necessary health care, I genuinely don't know if I'd be alive right now, and I certainly don't think I'd be happy.
